We might as well be honest. Kayak fishing is Captain Steve's first love (right behind God and his wife!) Every moment he has free he spends on the water in a kayak looking for the perfect catch. His lifelong passion for fishing serves him well when it comes to finding elusive trout and redfish in the shallows along the coast. He freely shares information about how to read the water, the best lures and flys to use, and hints on how to outfit a kayak for fishing.
This trip is about more than just catching fish. It is about enjoying the hunt, enjoying the beautiful scenery and wildlife, and, oh yeah, it's also about catching fish!

Catching Fish
It's called fishing. If you caught something every time, it would be called catching!
Many forces outside anyone's control determine whether fish are
biting. The tide, the phase of the moon, the wind, the time of year,
the time of day, noise, how the lure is presented, even the size and
color of the lure all play a part in enticing fish to bite. We will do
our best to put you on fish and share our expertise in what lures to
use and how to present the lure. The rest is up to you - and the fish!!
For Your Safety Kayaking and being outside is an exhilarating experience, but we must always keep in mind that any water sport has the potential of danger. For this reason, we require that all alcoholic beverages be left at the dock.
Conservation We have great respect for God's creation and this corner of it that we occupy. We hope to enjoy it for many years to come and leave it in good condition for our children and grandchildren. We support and encourage half-limits or catch, photo, and release, and we ALWAYS try to take away more trash than we bring.
Bait We specialize in lure fishing, but can accomodate you if you want to bait fish in the boat. Bait fishing is not available for the kayaks. There will be an extra charge for the bait that will reflect the current market price.
Recommended to bring... The
sun and wind on the Gulf Coast can definitely be a large factor to your
comfort. Even on the cloudiest of days it can cause severe sunburn and
dehydration. The following suggestions are to help make you more comfortable during and after your trip:
Sunscreen!!!!!!
Polarized sunglasses are a must!!!
Something for your feet - wading boots are
great and can be purchased at most sporting goods stores for around
$20.00 or an old pair of sneakers will work fine.
Long sleeve shirt and long pants of a quick dry material
Hat, preferably with an all around brim and a tie strap
