Welcome to Blue Heron Adventures. We offer guided fishing and scenic trips by kayak or by boat out of Corpus Christi, TX. We specialize in fishing for redfish, trout, and flounder, and will provide you with all the equipment and instruction to make your day on the water enjoyable.

Captain Steven Utley was born in 1953. He grew up on the Texas coast, and has been
fishing since the age of 7.
As a
teenager he lived in St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands where he continued
his love affair with the water, fishing, surfing, and diving.
Being on the water with a rod in his hand,
casting for the perfect fish has been a passion all of his life.
Sharing that passion with others by being a
fishing guide has been a life-long dream.
Captain Steve is a licensed captain through the U.S. Coast Guard and
holds a valid guide license through the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department. He is a member of the American Canoe Association, and is a
Certified Boating Instructor with the local U.S. Power Squadron. He is
a member of the Coastal Bend Guides Association, is a Native
Endorsed Fishing Guide, and a guide member of the Federation of Fly Fishers.
Susan Utley is a recently retired school teacher. Now that she s not teaching, she divides her time between church (where she is a part time music director) and managing Blue Heron Adventures. She
works hard to provide friendly, courteous communications with clients, to
maintain the business website and advertising venues, and to take care of the
financial end of the business.
She loves kayaking, and goes out mostly for the relaxation and to enjoy the beautiful serenity of the coastal water. Sometimes she does fish, and sometimes she even catches one. She had to release the one pictured here, but it was her first redfish caught on a topwater lure, so it was definitely worth a picture.
